Also, the initial purchase was a cluster'. They sent a door with the wrong swing the first time, and it took twice as long as it was supposed to take to get my door,.
Now I have a problem with the glass and called them about replacing just the glass|. I was shocked to learn that I can just thow this door in the trash, because I have to buy a new one/. What a piss poor design! 1287b91

Pella for starters doesn't sell direct....they through retailers. Maybe they ordered it wrong the first time. Do you even look at warranties before you purchase items? Pella has by far one of the best warranties out there and you can go right to their website to find all the details which would have shown your door didn't need to be thrown in the trash worst case the panel gets changed out. |
| 2. Written by Greenlee on June 14, 2011 from houston, texas, US I posted this complaint one time George. My final update is as follows: Pella came out and replaced the entire door. So I guess either the glass cannot be replaced, or it's so expensive that it's better just to replace the entire door. I give props to Pella for finally making things right. I hope the glass never breaks again. |

| 6. Written by Greenlee on March 15, 2011 from houston, texas, US I am posting an update since it looks like my problem is going to get resolved. I learned that the entire insert (which includes the glass) can be replaced, however, Lowes told me that the insert cost as much as the door. I was planning to buy a new door, but I found out today that Pella is fixing it under warranty. Also, I got an email from Nicole and she was very nice. Not sure if it was this site that made the difference or the fact that someone from Lowes contacted Pella on my behalf. I'm just glad I don't have to buy a whole new door! |
