We have called several times about our beautiful front door that has faded terribly, we had it refinished three times already and not from PELLA because they never got back with us. It is an expensive door too. All our windows are the designer collection and have the blinds inside the window, never liked the pull strings either. Would like to send pictures of the door. I am very disappointed in... Read more

This company uses its name to make a buck while making a crappy product. Its horrible to its customers and is even worse to its employees. Probably one of the most unreliable windows and doors ever made. Add comment

our pella sliding door locks itself every time it closes. This is dangerous. The first time I went out on our balcony, I made sure the Pella sliding door was unlocked. I went out and closed the door behind me to keep out wasps. When I went to go back inside, the door was locked. I was stuck on the balcony until help came. A house guest also got locked out when they forgot to keep the door... Read more

I just purchased nine windows and a slider for my home. Installer came out to put windows in and he could not get the screens out of windows and bent three of them. One window had a figure print between the glass . Slider screen would not go all the way open into side channel and some plastic trim was bent on it. Three window had moisture on the inside of glass when my wife cooked and it was cool... Read more

We needed windows to help with noise around our house. They swore to us in person and in emails that I have that these windows, about $27,000 worth!! Would cut our noise by 85%. They did not cut the noise even 10%! We can hear birds chirping outside and my son coughing. Can yo imagine bigger sounds like the distant train which sounds like it is in our living room! We even thought they must... Read more

Installed these windows from Lowe's about 5 years ago and have paid the price ever since. (the single hung, non low-e, new construction ones) Lowe's guy had a good argument about single hung windows leak less and the low-e only changes the r-value from 3 to about 5. so i took his word for it. Big mistake this was. I try every year to buy some type of weather stripping to stop the cold air from... Read more

The first year, 1 garage window cracked. Year 3 1/2, a second garage window cracked. Today, year 4, due to the cold weather, a 3rd window cracked, this time, in the master bedroom. I have only replaced the very first window in the garage, and the replaced the window for free, but I had to pay the labor, which I don't feel I should have. If the widows are faulty, why is the customer paying... Read more

I had Pella Prolines installed on my house during initial construction in 2001. When I went to open a hallway window last year (2014) the bottom sill and the aluminum clad fell off the window, due to the fact the bottom sill was completely rotted away. I inspected the rest of the 22 windows in the house and have found signs of rot in several others. Pella's answer was "we stand behind our windows... Read more

I have the exact same problem with double hung Prolines. They were installed in 2001. Didn't realize a problem either until I went to open a hall window and the bottom sill fell apart. Rotten under the aluminum clad. Spoke to Pella and they wanted to charge $200.00 to inspect and inform me that they only stand behind them for 10 years!!! Checked the other windows and found wood rot under 3... Read more

Brand new constuction 8 yrs ago. Now we have 6 windows with broken seals...cannot see out of them. The others, i mean all the windows and doors freeze up from air gaps. Very very disapointed. We made our contractor bring a pella rep...of course they all stick together...he said everything was fine. And after building a house who can afford to change all the windows. In the winter they all frost... Read more
